How to get your gift card

Step 1

Set up or maintain at least one type of eligible recurring direct deposit into your National Bank chequing account during the promotional period. To be eligible, this deposit must be part of the eligible list (see legal disclaimers) and occur at least three times within the promotional period. 1

Step 2

Complete at least five eligible transactions, such as debit card purchases or bill payments made through the National Bank app or online bank during the promotional period.

Eligible clients

You must be part of the ongoing migration wave, and have been the primary holder of one of the following eligible CWB chequing accounts before your migration:

  • Gold Leaf PLUS™ Account
  • CWB Prestige® Account
  • Apex™ all-inclusive Chequing Account
  • Standard Chequing Account
  • Basic Account

Description of the promotion

One $200 gift card at a restaurant of our choice for the primary chequing account holder when certain services are added, and certain transactions are carried out. See the conditions below.

Eligibility conditions:

To be eligible, during the promotional period, you must:

  • Hold an eligible Canadian Western Bank® chequing account that has been migrated to National Bank® as The Total® chequing account on August 11th, 2025.
  • Be the primary holder of this chequing account.
  • Sign up to National Bank’s online bank.
  • Eligible Canadian Western Bank® chequing accounts are:
    • Gold Leaf plusTM
    • Prestige Account®
    • ApexTM
    • Standard chequing
    • Basic

All of the following conditions must also be met to receive the $200 gift card:

TRANSACTIONS CONDITIONS
1) Activating an automatic deposit

Step 1) During the promotional period, set up or maintain one (1) type of Eligible Recurring Direct Deposit into your National Bank chequing account.

Step 2) Have this Eligible Recurring Direct Deposit deposited a minimum of three (3) times to your National Bank chequing account within the promotional period.

To be qualified as an Eligible Recurring Direct Deposit, deposits must be categorized under the Canadian Payment Association code as listed below:

2) Make eligible transactions

Within the promotional period, make a minimum of five (5) eligible transactions among the following eligible transactions:

  • Debit card purchases
  • Bill payments using National Bank’s app or online bank.

When will the $200 gift card be sent to you

If you’ve met all the conditions of the promotion, we will automatically send you a $200 physical gift card by mail no later than two (2) months after the end of the promotional period. We will send the gift card to the address on your National Bank file.

Choice of restaurant where the gift card can be redeemed

The choice of the restaurant where the $200 gift card can be redeemed is at our sole discretion. The selection will be based on, but not limited to, the availability of gift cards, the location of the restaurant in relation to the location of the branch associated with your chequing account, and any other factors deemed relevant. No gift card substitutions are allowed or will be granted.

Other conditions

  • You must be 18 years old at the beginning of the promotional period.
  • A limit of one gift card per client.
  • The total amount of $200 is applicable to a single gift card, at a single restaurant.
  • You must keep your National Bank chequing account in good standing for at least 180 days from the beginning of the promotional period. For the purposes of this promotion, the chequing account is not in good standing if:
    • It has been overdrawn, meaning that it has had a non-authorized negative balance.
    • It has been used in an inappropriate, unauthorized, illegal or abusive manner as described in section 8.7 of National Bank’s deposit account agreement.
  • You must not be employed by National Bank, Canadian Western Bank®, or one of their subsidiaries. Spouses of these employees and retirees are also not eligible. 
  • This promotion may be modified or withdrawn without prior notice.
  • This promotion can't be combined with any other National Bank cashback promotion applicable to chequing accounts or banking packages. However, it can be combined with another eligible National Bank credit card, mortgage loan, mortgage loan insurance or investment promotion.
